After graduating from Alberta College of Art in 1982, Rick Jacobson embarked on a highly successful career as an illustrator (commercial, editorial and publishing), designer, art director, painter and writer. His work has been seen around the globe.

As a commercial illustrator he has been the anchor point for campaigns for Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Labatt’s, Foster’s, E.D. Smith, Loblaws, Publix and countless more.

As a publishing illustrator, he has illustrated 19 books as well as numerous covers. Rick has written and illustrated 4 books for children focusing on art and art history.

As a art director and designer he heads two design companies, Deadcat Design, specializing in identity packaging, cd, poster, t-shirt and web design for the indie music scene and Design Of Thirds, specializing in helping small businesses position and market themselves in the constantly changing social media world.

With an impressive list of awards including gold medals from the Toronto Art Director’s, New York Art Director’s, American Illustration Award of excellence, the Amelia Frances Howard Gibbon’s Award and Ruth Schwartz Award, Ricks career has span 30 years of highly sought after excellence.
